In this training & PLC, ECE educators will explore math learning in the early years, integrate math into the daily routine, and use unusual materials for math activities. Our focus will be on classification, patterning, number sense, and math operations. Through hands-on experience, small group reflection, and group activities, we will deepen how educators facilitate math learning for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.

  • Learning Environments and Curriculum: Aligning vision and practice with strategies to enhance early math learning.Implementing engaging math activities based on best practices to promote social justice, equity, and inclusive math learning.Using inquiry, reflection, documentation, and assessment to deepen math learning and to connect families with their childrens learning.

Join our monthly session to learn more about the following topics:
Children's mathematical development from infancy through preschool.
Uncovering math learning opportunities in everyday play and routines.
Creating innovative math play activities using unusual materials.
Documenting and assessing children’s math learning using the DRDP 2015.
The Learning Objectives for Math Learning include:
Aligning vision and practice with strategies to enhance early math learning.
