In this introductory workshop, participants will learn about the basics of trauma and its effects on the brain. They’ll discuss strategies for responding to children''s extreme emotions and behaviors. At the end of this workshop, each participant will create a support plan for responding to an individual child in their care. This training series was co-designed with First 5 Contra Costa.

This is an Overview/Introductory training for Teaching Staff, Family Child Care Providers, Family, Friend, and Neighbor Care Providers.

  • Child Development and Learning: Describe what trauma is and how it affects the brain and behavior of a young childUse your understanding of trauma to safely and sensitively respond to childrens challenging behaviors
